Preserving & Sharing the Heritage of Roswell, GA

Historic Hembree Farmhouse, circa 1836, a Roswell Historical Society property

The Roswell Historical Society, the city's oldest historic preservation organization, was established in 1971. Since then, the Society has amassed considerable holdings of historically significant materials and artifacts. From the beginning, the Society has worked diligently to identify  and preserve community landmarks. Read more about our efforts to restore the historic Hembree farmhouse on our New Projects Page.

The purpose of the Roswell Historical Society is to promote the preservation of sources of information concerning the history of Roswell; to collect and/or preserve historical sites, books, manuscripts, charts, maps, and other antiquities deemed worthy of a place in our archives; to arouse in the citizens and friends of Roswell an interest in its history; and to cooperate with other cultural and educational institutions in implanting in the present and future generations pride in Roswell's history and traditions.

The Roswell Historical Society is an Affiliate Chapter of the Georgia Historical Society
